You probably have a few questions, so we’ve prepared the answers!
WHAT ARE THE USES OF CORK ROLLS WITH A THICKNESS OF 5-10 MM?
Natural cork in these thicknesses is perfect for creating a large cork board – ideal for pinning photos and notes with ease. The thickest option, 10 mm, offers the best noise insulation and heat retention among all cork rolls.
DOES CORK ROLL SELF ADHESIVE STICK TO VERTICAL SURFACES?
Yes, the adhesive is strong enough to hold firmly on vertical surfaces.
Remember! For the cork roll to adhere properly, the surface must be dry, clean, and dust-free. Without this preparation, the adhesive won’t stick as it should. The self-adhesive layer is suitable only for smooth, flat, clean, and dust-free surfaces (e.g., plasterboard or furniture panels).
CAN CORK ROLL BE APPLIED TO CURVED OR ROUGH SURFACES?
Definitely not. Self-adhesive cork roll works best on flat, smooth surfaces that are clean and dust-free (like plasterboard or furniture panels). Curved or rough surfaces are unsuitable for installation – the adhesive won’t hold properly, and the cork roll will come off.
WHAT IS THE BEST NATURAL CORK THICKNESS FOR A NOTICE BOARD?
Cork rolls with a thickness of 5–10 mm is an excellent choice for a notice board. It’s thick enough to securely hold pins in place. If you go for a thinner option, the pins are likely to fall out.
WHAT IS THE BEST BASE FOR NATURAL CORK WHEN MAKING A NOTICE BOARD?
A fibreboard is the best choice – it’s lightweight, durable, and allows pins to be inserted easily across the entire board. It holds the cork well and won’t warp over time. You can also opt for a cork sheet as the base.
CORK ROLL SELF ADHESIVE OR SHEETS – WHICH IS BETTER FOR NOTICE BOARDS?
For large boards, go for a cork roll – it provides a seamless surface with minimal visible joins. For smaller boards, sheets are a better choice since joins aren’t as noticeable in smaller areas.
DO I NEED TO ACCLIMATISE SELF-ADHESIVE CORK?
Yes, it’s crucial. Allow it 72 hours to adjust to the temperature and humidity of the room. Without this step, the cork roll may warp, peel off, or eventually fall off entirely.
HOW TO INSTALL SELF-ADHESIVE CORK ROLL ON A WALL?
First, make sure the surface you’re applying the cork roll to is smooth, clean, and dry. Uneven areas, dust, or dirt can make adhesion difficult.
Once the surface is ready, carefully peel off the protective backing to expose the adhesive layer. Start applying the cork roll from the centre and work your way outward.
Finally, check that the edges are properly secured and press down any loose sections if needed. Allow the adhesive 24 hours to fully bond the cork roll to the surface.
HOW TO FLATTEN CORK ROLLS?
Simply unroll the cork roll and place it on a flat, dry surface like a floor or table. Then, lay flat, heavy objects such as books or boards on top.
Make sure the weight is evenly distributed to avoid creating dents. To protect the cork roll further, you can place a soft cloth underneath. Leave it for a few hours, or ideally, for 24 hours, to flatten completely.
CAN SELF-ADHESIVE CORK FOR WALLS BE USED OUTDOORS?
Self-adhesive cork roll is designed for indoor use only. Its structure works perfectly indoors, but exposure to rain, sunlight, and changing weather conditions will quickly damage it.
If you need natural cork for outdoor use, opt for cork façade panels. These are made from expanded cork, which is far more resistant to outdoor conditions.
Notes constantly falling off, plastic boards wearing out quickly, and wallpapering feeling like more hassle than it’s worth? Natural cork solves all these problems in an instant. Simple, natural, mess-free – install it once, and enjoy peace of mind for years.
#1 NOTES ALWAYS IN PLACE – EFFORTLESS AND TIDY
No more worrying about notes falling off and getting lost. Every day, whether it’s a photo, an important note, or a reminder, you can pin it to your board with ease and be confident it will stay exactly where you need it.
It’s less stressful because you won’t need to keep adjusting notes or hunting for ones that vanish (and they always seem to disappear at the worst moments, don’t they?). Instead of wasting time on clutter, just pin it and know everything is right where it should be.
#2 CLEAN, QUICK, AND EFFORTLESS
Installing self-adhesive cork roll? Quick and easy. Just peel off the backing and stick the cork roll onto the surface – no mess, no dirty hands. No glue spills on your table or struggling to scrape off leftover adhesive afterwards.
Simply peel, stick, and enjoy your cork board in no time. It’s a HUGE time and energy saver.
#3 MORE BENEFITS, ZERO PLASTIC
Instead of cold material, you get natural cork that not only looks great but feels warm to the touch and makes daily organisation effortless. Plastic boards crack easily, scratch quickly, and in a few months, you’re back at the shop for another one.
Plus, natural cork is a planet-friendly material. It breaks down naturally and leaves no trace behind. Plastic? We all know it doesn’t. Its production consumes huge amounts of energy and resources, and it lingers in landfills for decades (if not longer). So why add to the waste when you can choose natural cork?
#4 WALLPAPER FOR A MOMENT, CORK FOR YEARS
Self-adhesive wallpaper is a good option if you want a quick makeover, but let’s be honest – it’s just decoration. It wears out quickly, peels off, and doesn’t offer much beyond its appearance. Natural cork, on the other hand, not only looks great but is genuinely functional. It stays firmly in place (thanks to strong adhesive), so you won’t need to replace it often, and it doesn’t attract dust, making cleaning a breeze.
Natural cork is far more durable than thin wallpaper, which doesn’t provide soundproofing or insulation, while cork naturally does. Wallpaper looks nice for a short while, but natural cork stays that way for years.
