HOW DO YOU APPLY A SELF ADHESIVE CORK ROLL TO A WALL?
- Pick the right location: Select the desired spot for your cork. Ensure the wall is smooth, clean, and dry. Uneven surfaces aren’t ideal – cork sticks best to flat areas like plasterboard.
- Clean the surface: Remove any dust or debris. A spotless wall ensures better adhesion.
- Remove the backing: Carefully peel off the protective layer to expose the adhesive.
- Attach the cork: Firmly press the cork onto the wall, starting from the centre and moving towards the edges.
- Check for secure adhesion: Run your hand along the edges to ensure it’s firmly attached. Press down on any loose sections.
- Allow it to settle: Wait 24 hours to ensure the adhesive fully bonds with the wall.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO ACCLIMATISE SELF-ADHESIVE CORK BEFORE INSTALLATION?
If you skip acclimatisation, the cork might warp, peel, or even detach from the wall. Allow it to adapt to the room’s conditions for 72 hours to prevent these problems. This simple step will save you trouble later on.
CAN SELF ADHESIVE CORK ROLL BE INSTALLED ON ANY WALL?
No, it’s designed to adhere to smooth, flat, clean, and dust-free surfaces such as plasterboard or furniture panels. Uneven or textured surfaces aren’t suitable.
WHAT ARE THE BEST USES FOR 2-4 MM THICK CORK ROLLS?
The 2 mm cork roll works perfectly for crafts, lining furniture, or as a decorative wall layer.
For thicker options, 3 mm and 4 mm cork rolls are excellent for pinboards or other creative uses. However, if you plan to pin items, thicker cork (5–10 mm) is better suited. The thinner rolls are ideal for decoration only.
CAN SELF-ADHESIVE CORK BE USED ON OLD WALLPAPER OR PAINT?
Not recommended. Cork needs a smooth, clean surface for proper bonding. Old wallpaper or peeling paint won’t provide a stable base, and the cork will eventually come loose. Remove any old layers before applying to ensure durability.
SHOULD I CHOOSE A SELF-ADHESIVE CORK ROLL OR CORK SHEETS?
For larger surfaces, opt for a cork roll to minimise seams and achieve a uniform finish. On the other hand, cork sheets are great for smaller projects where visible seams aren’t a concern.
HOW DO YOU FLATTEN ROLLED CORK?
- Lay the cork flat: Unroll it onto a clean, dry surface, such as a table or floor.
- Add weight: Distribute heavy, flat objects (like books or boards) evenly across the cork. To prevent marks, place a soft cloth between the cork and the weight.
- Let it settle: Leave the cork under the weight for several hours or overnight to ensure it flattens completely.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO PAINT SELF ADHESIVE CORK ROLL?
Yes, but ensure you use suitable paint. We recommend using cork paints for the best finish and durability.
CAN I CREATE A LARGE PINBOARD WITH CORK ROLLS?
CAN I ORDER CORK SAMPLES?
Yes, sample packs are available. Order samples to explore the look and feel of the cork before making a larger purchase.
Forget spending hours with glue and preparation – just peel and apply. Self-adhesive cork offers a fast, tidy, and eco-friendly solution that combines style and practicality!
#1 SIMPLICITY IN ACTION
Stop searching for glues, adhesives, or tools. Peel back the layer, and stick it down. No mess, no stress – it’s done in minutes.
Save effort and time – one quick application, and you’re good to go.
#2 SPEND LESS TIME AND MONEY
Paint gets dirty and needs frequent refreshing. Natural cork eliminates this headache entirely, sparing you the cost and effort of constant repainting.
Say goodbye to constant upkeep – cork is more stain-resistant and durable than even premium paints. A one-time installation keeps it looking great for years.
#3 KEEP DUST AND CHILL AT BAY
Foam panels may be cheaper, but they attract dust and are difficult to clean. In contrast, natural cork resists dust and is easy to maintain.
Vinyl panels might offer waterproofing but often feel cold and lifeless. Cork combines breathability, warmth, and moisture resistance in a way other materials can’t match.
#4 SUSTAINABILITY AT HEART
Every year, tonnes of synthetic waste pile up. Choosing biodegradable natural cork helps reduce environmental impact.
Cork is harvested without cutting down trees. A single hectare of cork oak absorbs 5.7 tonnes of CO₂ annually. By using cork, you’re actively supporting sustainability efforts.
#5 FRESHER INDOOR AIR
Allergy sufferers rejoice – cork doesn’t trap dust or promote mould, ensuring a healthier home environment.
Maintenance is a breeze. Just wipe it with a damp cloth, and it looks good as new, saving you time and effort.
