WHAT EXACTLY IS CORK POWDER?

It’s an fine cork material – dry and light. It looks a bit like flour or soft sand, and has the typical light brown shade you get from natural cork.

HOW CAN CORK POWDER BE USED?

There are loads of uses for cork powder:

  • Construction: Mixed into plaster or fillers to boost both sound and heat insulation. It’s also great in lightweight concrete or as a filler in wall structures.
  • Fishing: A go-to for making pop-up boilies for carp fishing, thanks to its buoyancy and attractant properties.
  • Pyrotechnics: Its flammable nature makes it ideal for use in sparklers and other visual effects.
  • Glassmaking: Used during glass production.
  • Battery production: Serves as an insulating buffer.
  • 3D printing: Added to filaments.
  • Decorative coatings: Adds thermal properties and a quirky texture to paints and plasters.
  • Model building: Brilliant for crafting detailed scenes, from railway layouts to nativity displays.
  • Custom composites: Works well with adhesives or resin to make your own materials.

IS CORK POWDER A GREEN PRODUCT?

Absolutely – cork is a fully renewable and eco-responsible choice. Trees aren’t harmed in the harvesting process, and the bark naturally grows back. Plus, cork oaks can live up to 200 years!

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO STORE IT?

Keep it somewhere dry and away from sunlight. Seal it in an airtight container so it doesn’t absorb moisture or degrade over time.

DOES IT STILL WORK WHEN MIXED WITH OTHER STUFF?

Yes – it keeps its insulating properties and stays lightweight. The only thing that changes is the consistency – it becomes more solid as part of a mix.

IS CORK POWDER GOOD FOR BIOMASS USE?

Yes, definitely. It fits perfectly with the idea of sustainable, green living. It’s natural, renewable, and low-impact on the planet.

HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM GRANULATE?

It mostly comes down to granule size – cork powder is super fine. Cork granules are slightly bigger, kind of like couscous. There’s even a version that’s made of bigger cork pieces.

WHAT'S THE TYPICAL DENSITY?

It varies with grain size. Fine cork powder (under 0.25 mm) usually has a density of 90–110 kg/m³, while slightly larger particles (0.2–0.5 mm) are around 60–80 kg/m³.

HOW’S IT MADE?

It comes from mechanically grinding pure cork. Think of it like grinding coffee beans – the cork is crushed into tiny bits, then passed through sieves to get a uniform, powdery texture.

Cork rolls and sheets are super useful – but sometimes, you need something that gets into every tight corner. Cork powder is basically cork in its tiniest form: loose, adaptable, and just as eco-conscious. Synthetic options? Not even in the same league – they’re bulkier, less flexible, and, well... fake.

Black text WHY is it worth it?» with cork on the right on a white background.

#1 LIGHTWEIGHT & NON-REACTIVE

Cork powder is impressively lightweight – and that’s no coincidence. Its structure is like a sponge, filled with millions of tiny, air-packed cells. That means it’s got great volume without piling on the weight. So it’s easy to move around and spread wherever you need it.

Here’s another major plus: it’s chemically neutral. It won’t react with liquids or gases, which comes in handy when mixing it with adhesives, plasters, or resins. Plus, it stands up well against UV rays and biological wear, so it’s a solid choice for outdoor jobs too.

#2 ENDLESS USES

You’ll find cork powder used across loads of different sectors – from soundproofing and insulation to creative home projects. It works a treat in plasters, boosting both heat retention and noise reduction.

Its flexibility is a big win – it squashes and fits wherever you need it. If you’re into crafts, decor or building little gadgets, you’ll love how easily it mixes with other materials and shapes to your needs.

#3 SAFE TO USE, GENTLE ON SKIN

Cork powder is allergy-friendly and gentle on the skin. It won’t cause rashes or allergic reactions – perfect if you’re avoiding harsh substances and trying to keep your space safer and healthier.

Our cork granules come with a certified hygiene stamp from Poland’s National Institute of Public Health (PZH). This confirms it’s totally safe and meets strict standards. Not just marketing talk – real evidence you can trust. Currently, we’re the only supplier in Poland offering cork granules with this specific certificate.

#4 PLANET-FRIENDLY CHOICE

Cork is a completely natural and renewable material. It’s taken from cork oak bark – and here’s the clever bit – the trees aren’t cut down. The bark grows back, so nature stays happy and balanced.

Often, cork powder is made from recycled cork items – like old stoppers or panels. It’s a brilliant example of the circular economy in action: instead of binning it, we give it new life. Green and clever.
