You probably have a few questions, so we’ve prepared the answers!

HOW TO APPLY SELF ADHESIVE CORK ROLL TO A WALL?

  1. Choose the right spot: Decide where you want to apply natural cork. Make sure the wall is smooth, clean, and dry. Avoid rough surfaces – natural cork adheres best to smooth, flat surfaces like plasterboard.

  2. Prepare the wall: Wipe off any dust or dirt. The cleaner the wall, the better natural cork will stick.

  3. Peel off the protective film: Slowly and carefully remove the backing to reveal the adhesive layer.

  4. Stick natural cork in place: Press down firmly across the entire surface of the cork roll, starting from the centre and gradually moving towards the edges.

  5. Check the adhesion: Run your hand along the edges to ensure everything is well-attached. If you notice any loose areas, press them down firmly.

  6. Let it settle: Leave it for 24 hours to allow the adhesive to bond properly.

WHY DO I NEED TO ACCLIMATISE SELF ADHESIVE CORK BEFORE INSTALLATION?

Natural cork can warp, peel, or even fall off the wall if you skip acclimatisation. Give it 72 hours to "adjust" to the environment, and you'll avoid these issues. It's a simple step that saves you a lot of hassle.

CAN SELF-ADHESIVE CORK BE APPLIED TO ANY WALL?

No, the adhesive backing is only suitable for smooth, flat, clean, and dust-free surfaces (e.g., plasterboard or furniture panels).

WHAT ARE CORK ROLLS IN 2 TO 4 MM THICKNESS BEST FOR?

The thinnest cork roll, 2 mm, is ideal for DIY projects, hobbies, furniture lining, or as a decorative and protective wall layer.

If you need a slightly thicker material, 3 mm and 4 mm cork rolls work well as a decorative surface for pinboards. However, keep in mind that for pinning directly into cork, you'll need a thicker option (5–10 mm). Thinner rolls are suited purely for decorative purposes.

CAN I APPLY SELF-ADHESIVE CORK ON OLD WALLPAPER OR PAINT?

Natural cork doesn’t adhere well to old wallpaper or peeling paint – the surface needs to be smooth and clean for a durable bond. The adhesive won’t grip properly, and the cork roll will start peeling off over time. Make sure to remove all old layers before installation to ensure a clean, smooth surface.

WHICH SHOULD I CHOOSE: SELF-ADHESIVE CORK ROLL OR CORK SHEETS?

For larger projects, go for a cork roll – it creates fewer seams, giving you a smoother, more uniform surface. Cork sheets, on the other hand, are perfect for smaller projects where seams are less of a concern.

HOW TO FLATTEN ROLLED CORK?

  1. Unroll the cork: Lay the cork roll flat on a clean, dry surface, like a floor or table.

  2. Apply even weight: Place flat, heavy objects (e.g., books or boards) across the cork’s surface. Ensure the weight is evenly distributed to avoid dents. For extra protection, you can place a soft cloth between the cork and the weights.

  3. Allow time to settle: Leave the cork roll under the weight for several hours, ideally overnight, to let it flatten completely.

CAN SELF-ADHESIVE CORK BE PAINTED?

Yes, but it’s important to use the right type of paint. We recommend tried-and-tested paints for cork for the best results.

IS CORK ROLL SUITABLE FOR MAKING A LARGE PINBOARD?

Yes, if you’re planning to create a large pinboard, cork rolls with a thickness of 5 to 10 mm work best.

CAN I ORDER SAMPLES?

Yes, we offer samples – this way, you can see what the self-adhesive cork looks like before purchasing a larger quantity.

You usually waste time preparing and applying glue, but with this, you simply peel off the backing and get started right away. Self-adhesive cork is a quick and convenient solution that's also stylish, safe, and eco-friendly!

Black text WHY is it worth it?» with cork on the right on a white background.

#1 JUST PEEL AND STICK

Forget hunting for glues, tapes, or expensive tools. Simply peel off the backing and stick it on. No glue spills on your table, no scraping off leftovers.

Save time and stress – stick it once, and you're done.

#2 SAVE TIME AND MONEY

Paint gets dirty quickly, leaves marks, and before you know it, it’s time to paint again. Natural cork solves this problem once and for all. Save the time and money you used to spend on paint.

Forget constant touch-ups – natural cork is more resistant to dirt and everyday stains than even the most expensive market paint. Install it once, and enjoy years without repainting.

#3 SAY GOODBYE TO DUST AND COLD

Decorative foam panels might be cheaper than natural cork, but that’s where their advantages end. They collect dust quickly and are a nightmare to clean. Natural cork, on the other hand, repels dust and is easy to maintain.

And vinyl? Sure, it has its advantages – like being waterproof – but it doesn’t breathe and feels cold to the touch. Natural cork combines water resistance with breathability and keeps your walls warm and comfortable.

#4 ZERO WASTE, ZERO TREE CUTTING

Every year, tons of synthetic materials end up in landfills, adding to the waste we’re drowning in. Unlike plastic panels, natural cork is fully biodegradable, meaning you leave no footprint on the planet.

Natural cork is harvested without cutting down trees. This matters because one hectare of cork oak forest absorbs up to 5.7 tons of CO₂ annually! For comparison, the average petrol car emits about 4 tons per year. By choosing natural cork, you’re supporting a natural “air filter” that actively fights global warming.

#5 HEALTHIER AIR AT HOME

Natural cork doesn’t attract dust or promote the growth of mould or bacteria, making it a safe choice for allergy sufferers. You’ll enjoy cleaner, healthier air at home without the worry of harmful microorganisms developing on your walls.

And what about cleaning? There’s no need for frequent cleaning. A simple wipe with a damp cloth keeps it looking like new. It’s a material that makes life easier and saves you time.
