WHAT WINES ARE SUITABLE FOR UNIQ SERIES STOPPERS?

These stoppers work well with all types of still wines. The corks are crafted from smaller pieces of natural cork, ensuring a snug fit in the bottleneck to maintain freshness.

HOW DO THE UNIQ WINE STOPPERS DIFFER FROM EACH OTHER?

The stoppers are made from various sizes of cork granules.

In terms of functionality, UNIQ2 can absorb up to 30% moisture, while UNIQ3, UNIQ4, and UNIQ5 absorb up to 25%.

Regarding TCA levels, UNIQ2 contains up to 1.5 ng/L, whereas UNIQ3, UNIQ4, and UNIQ5 contain up to 0.9 ng/L.

WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS OF THE UNIQ STOPPERS?

Each stopper measures 44 × 24 mm.

CAN UNIQ STOPPERS BE USED FOR SPARKLING WINES?

No, for sparkling wines we recommend other models, such as EXPO and VEGA.

WHAT ARE THE TCA LEVELS IN THESE STOPPERS?

In the UNIQ2 model, the TCA level is up to 1.5 ng/L, while in UNIQ3, UNIQ4, and UNIQ5, it is up to 0.9 ng/L. This is significantly lower compared to many standard cork stoppers.

WHAT IS TCA?

TCA, also known as trichloroanisole, is the compound that can sometimes give wine a "corked" flavour. Rest assured, though – the wine remains safe to drink. TCA affects only the aroma and taste.

The lower the TCA in a stopper, the less likely this will happen. Choosing stoppers with low TCA ensures a pure aroma in your wine.

All our cork stoppers are rigorously tested.

IS NATURAL CORK A SAFE AND HEALTHY OPTION FOR STOPPERS?

Yes, cork is a healthy and natural material for sealing wine. It’s sourced from the bark of the cork oak and doesn't release harmful substances.

Additionally, cork acts as a natural barrier, protecting your wine from contaminants like bacteria and dust. It helps ensure that the wine remains pure and fresh during storage.

HOW SHOULD YOU STORE WINE WITH CORK STOPPERS?

Consider these simple storage tips:

  1. Keep bottles on their side – this keeps the cork moist, preventing it from drying out and maintaining a secure seal.
  2. Store in a cool, dark place – temperatures between 10-15°C are ideal, and a stable environment helps preserve the wine.
  3. Maintain appropriate humidity – around 70% humidity is best for optimal wine storage.

IS A WINE CORK STOPPER EASY TO REMOVE?

Although cork stoppers can require more effort to remove compared to synthetic closures, the difference is minimal.

Natural cork forms a tighter seal than plastic stoppers, but with a reliable corkscrew, opening a bottle is straightforward.

DO NATURAL CORKS ALTER THE WINE’S COLOUR?

No, cork doesn’t influence the colour of the wine. Its primary purpose is to seal the bottle while allowing minimal airflow. The cork material doesn’t change the wine’s appearance.

Wine colour changes over time due to oxidation and aging processes, not because of the cork.

CAN CORK CAUSE ALLERGIES?

No, natural cork is hypoallergenic. Unlike some synthetic materials, cork doesn’t release chemicals that can harm your health.

For wine, natural cork is particularly safe, as it doesn’t interact with the liquid or alter its quality.

Opening a bottle of wine should always be an enjoyable experience. Natural cork guarantees this – keeping the wine fresh and preventing any unpleasant surprises. Plus, the elegant appearance is an added touch, complementing the bottle’s presentation.

#1 ELEGANT APPEARANCE

When choosing a bottle of wine, presentation is key – from the moment you see it to when you open it. A cork stopper adds a touch of sophistication, without unnecessary frills.

Each cork stopper is naturally unique, no two are ever alike. This gives your bottle a distinct, personalised feel. It’s a small touch that true wine lovers will appreciate.

#2 NATURAL WITHOUT SYNTHETICS

Choosing natural cork means embracing nature’s simplicity, without synthetic additives. The material comes straight from the bark of cork oak trees, which can live for decades and offer the best natural closures. In fact, cork stoppers are grown, not made!

No plastics and no artificial materials. Just nature, providing the ideal closure for your wine. Cork stoppers are a small but significant gesture of environmental responsibility, without compromising quality.

#3 EXCELLENT PRESERVATION

Natural cork excels at maintaining the freshness and quality of your wine. It creates a perfect fit within the bottleneck, acting as a reliable barrier against unwanted oxidation.

It protects the delicate flavours and aromas, keeping them intact for longer. Each time you open a bottle, you can be confident it will meet your expectations, without any disappointments.

#4 CHEAPER STOPPERS VS CORK

When comparing synthetic stoppers to natural cork, the difference is noticeable, especially with premium still wines.

For instance, plastic stoppers can cause the wine to lose freshness faster. After only a few days, the wine may taste noticeably different. Natural cork, however, ensures an airtight seal, preserving the wine’s quality even during long-term storage.

Synthetic stoppers also speed up oxidation, which can negatively impact wine quality. Cork, with its porous structure, allows the wine to breathe, preserving its flavours over time.

#5 SAFE TCA CONTENT

Worried about unwanted flavours? No need. Our cork stoppers are designed with lower TCA, keeping your wine pure.

This ensures that your wine is free from unpleasant odours or tastes. With these stoppers, you can be confident that your bottle will taste exactly as intended – no surprises.

#6 A RETURN TO TRADITION

Opening a bottle of wine with a cork stopper connects you to centuries of tradition. Cork has been the preferred choice of winemakers for hundreds of years because it preserves wine’s quality effectively.

Each cork stopper represents a piece of history, allowing your wine to mature in the same way it has for generations. It doesn’t just close the bottle, it honours a longstanding winemaking heritage.
