You probably have a few questions, so we’ve prepared the answers!
WHAT TYPES OF SPACES IS FORBO BEST SUITED FOR?
- Schools and nurseries: Ideal for creating surfaces to pin up timetables, students’ work, and announcements for parents.
- Offices, creative studios, and architectural firms: Perfect for organising information like meeting schedules or important team notes.
- Conference rooms: Great for pinning materials during presentations, meetings, or workshops.
- Hospitals: Used for displaying charts, duty schedules, and important notices.
- Furniture, doors, partitions, and cabinets: The Forbo pinboard allows you to make the most of every surface.
WHAT MATERIALS IS THE FORBO BULLETIN BOARD MADE FROM?
It is composed of 91% natural ingredients, including linseed oil, rosin, natural cork, and jute. Additionally, 87% of the raw materials come from renewable sources. Forbo is free from PVC, PET, and plasticisers.
WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS OF THE PINBOARD?
The pinboard is available in rolls measuring 6 mm × 122 cm × 27 m. This format allows you to cover large areas with minimal seams.
HOW MUCH DOES ONE ROLL WEIGH?
One roll of Forbo weighs approximately 160 kg.
CAN FORBO BULLETIN BOARD BE CUT?
Yes, the pinboard can be cut using tools such as circular saws, band saws, reciprocating saws, jigsaws, metal saws, or hand saws.
When cutting, keep two things in mind:
- Use sharp tools to achieve clean edges.
- Ensure the material is secure and doesn’t move during cutting to avoid uneven edges.
If you’ve never cut this type of material before, start by testing the tool on a small piece.
WHAT ADHESIVE SHOULD I USE FOR INSTALLATION?
Choose Wakol D-3540 dispersion adhesive or any carpet adhesive.
HOW TO INSTALL FORBO BULLETIN BOARD ON AN ENTIRE WALL?
- Prepare the surface – It must be clean, smooth, and dry. Repair any damage, fill gaps, and sand the surface. Remove dust and any residue from old adhesive to ensure the glue adheres properly.
- Acclimatise the Forbo – Lay the material flat for 24 hours in a room with a temperature above 20°C before installation. Remove the factory edges and leave a small extra allowance at the bottom edge for overlap. Mark a starting line on the wall to guide your work.
- Apply the adhesive and position the material – Start from the top and press the material down using a roller to remove air bubbles and ensure strong adhesion. Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately with a damp cloth.
- Join material carefully – Maintain the material’s direction and leave an overlap of 1.2 cm between sheets. Press the overlap firmly with the roller to ensure it holds securely.
WHAT SHOULD BE DONE AFTER INSTALLATION?
Once installation is complete, the pinboard is ready for use. If you notice any adhesive residue, remove it immediately with a damp cloth. Acting quickly is important, as fresh adhesive is much easier to clean.
DO PINHOLES REMAIN ON THE SURFACE?
No, pinholes regenerate on their own. The material "heals" in the punctured areas, and the regeneration time depends on how long the pins were in place. The surface does not crack, peel, or crumble.
HOW DO YOU SHIP THE FORBO PINBOARD?
We ship the product on a pallet.
If needed, we can cut the roll to specific dimensions (for an additional fee). We also offer custom UV printing on request. Feel free to contact us through the contact form!
HOW TO CLEAN FORBO?
For best results, use a damp cloth or a mild detergent. If deeper cleaning is required, use a neutral detergent with a pH between 6 and 8 (a small amount will suffice). After cleaning, rinse the surface with clean water.
Avoid harsh detergents and abrasive cloths, as they can damage the surface.
HOW TO STORE FORBO?
Store the roll vertically with the "core facing up" to prevent pressure lines from forming. Lay sheets flat, avoiding any point pressure. Placing heavy objects on the sheet’s surface may cause permanent indentations.
Keep the material in a dry room, away from moisture and significant temperature fluctuations.
CAN YOU WRITE ON FORBO WITH A MARKER?
No, the pinboard is not designed for writing. It’s made for pinning notes and information.
Plastic and felt boards quickly lose their functionality. Damaged surfaces discourage idea-sharing, stifle creativity, and cause information to get lost in the clutter. The Forbo bulletin board puts an end to the mess – durable, natural, and plastic-free.

#1 NATURAL INGREDIENTS = TANGIBLE BENEFITS
Parents are asking about the materials used in classrooms, and clients and employees are paying attention to companies’ environmental standards. Forbo is made from 91% natural ingredients, including linseed oil, rosin, natural cork, and jute. Of these, 87% are renewable, and 43% are recycled materials.
A school that invests in healthy, eco-friendly materials earns greater trust from parents. A company that demonstrates care for the environment builds stronger connections with its customers.
#2 MAXIMUM FUNCTIONALITY
Important information has its designated place, and teachers gain a tool that simplifies their daily tasks. In the office, the board becomes a central feature of team meetings – you pin ideas, plans, and schedules on it, keeping everything within easy reach.
With Forbo, you transform doors, cabinets, or office partitions into practical surfaces for pinning notes. Every available space serves to enhance organisation – a schedule on the door or task lists on partitions.
#3 SAY GOODBYE TO HIDDEN COSTS
A school or business budget is not an endless resource. The Forbo Bulletin Board offers a solution that combines durability with cost-effectiveness, eliminating the need for frequent repairs and replacements. Instead of investing in new boards every year, you make a one-time purchase of a high-quality Forbo board that lasts for years.
Cheap solutions – such as plastic boards – may seem economical at first, but they generate costs in the long run. The Forbo bulletin board solves this problem, as once installed, it provides peace of mind for years. The material is durable and resistant to washing and stains.
#4 A SAFE AND CLEAN SPACE FOR NOTES
The absence of PVC, PET, or plasticisers is a genuine benefit for health. In schools, where children spend the majority of their day, this is of great importance. Imagine a classroom full of children – everyone breathes in what their surroundings emit. With the Forbo bulletin board, parents can feel reassured, and teachers can be confident that the space is safe. In offices or conference rooms, where clear thinking is essential for decision-making, a healthy environment enhances efficiency and well-being.
Thanks to its bacteriostatic properties, it inhibits the growth of microorganisms in classrooms, conference rooms, and shared spaces. The Forbo board helps maintain hygiene in areas frequented by many people every day.
