Got questions? We've got answers!

HOW CAN CORK MIX BE USED?

Cork mix is designed for pressure moulding applications. It’s the go-to solution for crafting unique components in industries like construction, furniture, footwear, sports gear, and decorations – wherever intricate shapes and precision matter.

WHAT’S THE PROCESS FOR FORMING CORK GRANULES?

The technique consists of compressing small cork granules into a solid form using heat and pressure, with adhesive activation occurring at 110–130°C.

Granulated cork is placed in a mould, which is then subjected to heat and high pressure. The adhesive activates, bonding the granules together into a firm structure. Once cooled and removed, the final product is ready for use.

DOES CORK MIX HAVE AN OPEN TIME?

No, and that’s a major advantage. The adhesive only sets when it reaches its activation temperature (110–130°C). This ensures complete flexibility, letting you work at your own pace without worrying about timing.

IS THERE POLYURETHANE IN THE CORK MIX?

No, the adhesive is environmentally friendly. It contains no polyurethane or solvents, making it a sustainable choice.

WHAT SHOULD I KEEP IN MIND WHEN PRESSURE MOULDING CORK?

Two essential factors to consider:

  1. Even granule distribution – ensure an even spread inside the mould to prevent inconsistencies in the final shape.
  2. Optimal temperature – verify that the mould reaches 110–130°C. If the temperature is too low, the adhesive won’t activate properly.

HOW LONG CAN CORK MIX BE STORED?

Indefinitely, as long as it remains in airtight packaging. Exposure to moisture will degrade its quality over time.

For best preservation, store in a dry place with humidity levels below 40–50%.

CAN THE CORK MIX BE DYED?

Yes, it can be coloured using pigments.

To achieve even colouring, add pigment gradually while thoroughly mixing. Dumping too much at once can cause uneven shades.

ARE CORK GRANULES RECYCLABLE?

Absolutely, natural cork is 100% recyclable. It can be reground and reshaped using pressure moulding, cutting waste and costs!

HOW ARE CORK GRANULES PRODUCED?

Granulated cork is made by breaking down the bark of the cork oak tree. This process turns the material into a loose, mouldable form, ready for shaping.

Time is valuable, and every mistake in production leads to wasted resources and a dent in customer confidence. Natural cork helps cut downtime, minimises waste, and strengthens your company’s reputation as a trusted business partner.

#1 NATURAL CORK = A MARKET ADVANTAGE

More and more customers seek sustainable products. Natural cork aligns with these expectations, reinforcing your brand’s image as eco-friendly and responsible. Businesses that neglect sustainable solutions risk losing credibility and slipping behind the competition.

Cork mix is an environmentally sound choice because it contains no polyurethane and is entirely recyclable. When clients see your commitment to sustainability, their trust in your brand grows. They recognise that buying from you supports eco-conscious efforts, keeping them loyal and encouraging word-of-mouth recommendations.

#2 HIGH-QUALITY MATERIAL FOR SEAMLESS WORKFLOW

Cork mix is clean, top-grade, and helps eliminate contamination and operational issues. Thanks to precision granulation, every component fits seamlessly, ensuring smooth production with no unexpected interruptions. This allows you to concentrate on expanding your business instead of dealing with setbacks.

How does this benefit your team? Production stays efficient as the material works flawlessly. Orders are processed faster, leading to happier customers. You save time, handle more projects, and maximise productivity!

#3 RELIABLE PRODUCTION CONSISTENCY

Every faulty batch means wasted resources and money, while inconsistent materials weaken customer confidence in your brand. Ready-to-use, dry cork mix ensures uniformity—delivering consistently high-quality production.

Pressure moulding allows seamless continuation of projects with the next batch, ensuring identical results. The material’s stability guarantees that every component meets the required standards, eliminating the need for tweaks or reworks.
